Today's English class started at 9.35. A couple of my classmates (Ana, Martin, Nejc and Mateo) were very
nervous because of their presentations.
Mateo was the first one. He introduced us to NCIS, a popular TV series. To be honest, I didn't listen
to him that much. The English teacher asked me to write the meaning of the verb 'finish off' on the
blackboard. I had to look for the definition into two dictionaries, but the definitions were quite easy to
find. I also wrote definitions of the separate words (finish, off) on the blackboard and wrote a sentence
using that verb. Although I was quite busy with doing that, I still noticed my classmates were giggling
and enjoying Mateo's presentation. He got an A and was very pleased with himself.
Martin's presentation was about basketball. He described the rules of basketball, the tasks of a certain
player and some basic rules. He also told us something about the history of this sport, the NBA, his
favourite teams and the best basketall players of all times. He got an A as well.
Martin's presentation was very long, so Ana's presentation about scouts was prolonged into the break.
Ana had a bit of trouble with remembering the text and was estimated with the grade C.
I liked today's class, I have learnt a lot of new things about scouts and basketball and I have even learnt a
definition of a new verb. Yay!
